Inter-school Swimming Competition 18-19 Division 3

In the Hong Kong Schools Sports Federation, our school has got Girls Grade A Champion. 5C Li Yuet Sum Phyllis was the champion in 50M Backstroke and 50M Butterfly while 5D Ho Cheuk Yu has been awarded the 2nd Runner-up in 50M Freestyle and the 3rd Runner up in 100M Freestyle. Our team including 3C Wu Ning Ga Lindy, 5B Chan Hoi Ching, 5C Li Yuet Sum Phyllis and 5D Ho Cheuk Yu also won the 4X50M Medley Relay. Congratulations to our school swimming team!


Hong Kong Secondary School Debating Competition 2018-2019

Our English Debate Team members (3C Jennifer Mok, 3D Nicole Lam and 3D Bridget Ma) won in round 1 of the Hong Kong Secondary School Debating Competition 2018-2019 (Division 1, EMI Schools) against PLK Ngan Po Ling College on the motion that production of biofuels should be stopped. Congratulations to the three debaters and good luck in the next round of the competition.


Mindcrafting Initiative: English Debate Explorer

English debate is not only an extracurricular activity but also an excellent opportunity for students to develop their language skills as well as their confidence and presentation skills. To promote the benefits of debating, our English department has organized an English debate workshop and a debate demonstration in our school on 13 October 2018. Jockey Club – UNESCO Hong Kong “Global Citizenship Education” Project

The project aims at instilling in students an understanding of the importance of slowing down climate change through script-writing and theatre performances. Prior to performances, a series of knowledge input about climate change is provided. Here are some highlights of the first visit e.g. learning about the impacts brought by global warming.


Teen Time @ RTHK

Three S5 girls were invited to take part in a recording session of “Teen Time”, an English program of RTHK 3. They talked about how they felt about all those apps catching on among teens in recent years. The show is scheduled for 20 November from 9pm to 10pm. Make sure you tune-in!

S4 Learning Camp

With higher complexity and a wider scope in senior secondary, LTC and SAC collaborated and organized S4 Learning Camp where all S4 students learnt about their own learning styles and some self directed learning strategies through various games and reflection activities. They also set goals for the coming year.


Visit by our former exchange student from Germany – Michelle

On October 5, Michelle, an exchange student from Germany 5 years ago, came back and visited our principal and teachers. As she was taking a short break from her undergraduate internship in Malaysia, she took this opportunity to meet us up in Hong Kong. Michelle also took the opportunity to meet Lydia, this year’s exchange student from France. These two AFS students shared happy moments in the school garden!

The Guzheng Ensemble of our school gave outstanding performances in the event organized by the Kowloon City District Office of the Home Affairs Department.


Visit by Kanarasdornbumroong Changwat Yala School

A group of teachers and students from Kanarasdornbumroong Changwat Yala School, Thailand, visited our school with the aim of having better understanding of the innovative teaching methods of our Maths and Science Departments. Besides joining a school tour, they were introduced to the solar vehicle and some Micro:bit products designed and manufactured by our students.
