Science Education Activities (Nov 2016-Mar 2017)

1. STEM Activities
From January to March, our Science teachers gave a chance for all form one and two students to get a taste of taking part in STEM activities.

In line with the topic of our Science textbook Unit 9 Electricity, every form 2 girl assembled a mini motor. The students made a lot of efforts to ensure the motor is working. It is absolutely a challenging experience for them.

Cultural Subject Days (20-22/03/2017)

Our school’s Cultural Subject Days were from 20th to 22nd March 2017. During these three days, students were able to get exposed to different aspects of learning including sports, arts and music. There had been various activities held including printmaking, dodgeball and biking competitions as well as a music talk and performance. All these events give students not only fun but also a new sense of their accomplishments.


St. Patrick’s Cup Debating Competition (20/03/2017)

Our S.5 English Debate Team won the First Runner-up Prize in the St. Patrick’s Cup Debating Competition organized by Consul General of Ireland to Hong Kong and Macau on 20 March 2017. The motion of the debate was ‘This house believes that Asia would benefit from an Asian equivalent of the EU.’ Congratulations to all the debate team members!

Inter-school Education Conference Programme (04/03/2017)

With the commitment to supporting and improving STEM education, teachers of True Light schools work collaboratively to ensure that all students have the chance to study and be inspired by Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics — and have the chance to reach their full potential.

Athletics Meet (20 & 27/02/2017)

Our school’s 37th Athletics Meet was held at Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground on February 20 and 27.

On the first day, Miss Lee, our school chaplain, first prayed for fine weather and she encouraged all the athletes to try their best in the events.

Next, Principal Lee gave us an opening speech, highlighting the importance of perseverance and inviting the cheering teams to support their houses. This helped students inspire their self-confidence, enthusiasm and morale.

Winning in Low Carbon Cooking Micro Film Competition (24/01/2017)

Student members from the Environmental Education Committee won the Second Runner-up in the Low Carbon Cooking Micro Film Competition organised by Business Environment Council and Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas). The title of the film was The Comeback of Master Chef.

Awarded in “Healthy without Alcohol” campaign (11/01/2017)

Our schoolmates were awarded in “Healthy without Alcohol” campaign lauched by the University of Hong Kong. Supported by the HKU School of Public Health, the campaign aims to step up efforts to combat underage drinking. We are honoured to be part of this movement.

Games Day, Christmas Services & Celebration (22-23/12/2016)

To enhance the class team spirit, our Annual Games Day was held on 22 December, 2016. A series of inter-class competitions were organized by the Student Union in the playground. Every competition was successfully run as students from each class participated enthusiastically showing their talent as well as their full support to the classmates. Qipao (Cheongsam) Expo (17/12/2016)

We are honoured to have joined the Qipao Expo which was held on 17 Dec 2016 at The Grand Stage, Western Market. Assisted by Mr Lam Yuk Fai, Executive Director of Art Building Character (ABC) Foundation Limited, our S.3 students beautifully designed various styles of Cheongsam and grasped new qipao etiquette. They finished the fashion show successfully, receiving lots of applause, attention and positive affirmation.

Inter-form Debating Competition (30/11/2016)

Since debating is a great way to gain confidence, develop thinking and language skills and enhance awareness of the world around us, we held an inter-form debating competition on 30 November, 2016 in order to let both student debaters and audience have a chance to use this vehicle to stretch their potential further.
