Global Tourism Summit@International Debating Competition (16-21/09/2017)

Two form five student debaters, Audrey Cheung and Gladys Tse from 5A, represented Hong Kong National Debating Team to join The Global Tourism Summit Cum International Debating Competition held in Hawaii from 16 to 21 September, 2017. It was invaluable experience to our students as they got the chances to compete with delegations from San Francisco, Hawaii and New Zealand. They were also exposed to the local cultures of Hawaii and shaped into an ambassador of Hong Kong.

Mr Kevin Yeung, JP, Secretary for Education, visited KTLS, supporting our S1 students (24/08/2017)

We are honoured to have Mr Kevin Yeung Yun-hung, JP, Secretary for Education as our guest, joining our Pre-S1 Summer Bridging Course, Fun World of Learning.

To welcome and navigate our newly admitted S1 students to get familiar with our campus and their classmates, we organized an orientation program for them on 24 August 2017. The 8th National High School Students Leadership Competition July 2017 (Late July 2017)

Congratulations! Led by the Chairperson of National and Social Caring Committee, 8 students from our schools participated in The 8th National High School Students Leadership Competition in Shanghai, which took place in late July 2017, showcasing the successful outcomes of their social project on caring for our senior citizens through a wide variety of activities and games.

KTLS (Kindergarten Section) newly renovated campus and modern facilities (2017-2018)

Re-opening our Kindergarten Section, our newly admitted K1 to K3 students will begin classes in the newly renovated campus in Kowloon City. Our campus is designed by educators to promote active learning and provide natural opportunities for children to explore, inquire, solve problems, and engage in purposeful play, allowing kids to learn about nature from real-life experiences and develop their multi-talents including social and IT skills at an earlier age. A Series of Staff Development Activities (August 2017)

Our Principal Lee attended the new teacher training programme organized by the Education Bureau on 9 August 2017, sharing the latest development in Secondary School’s Curriculum and equipping the teachers to get prepared to nurture our next generation.

Basketball Team Summer Exchange Program to Taipei (July 2017)

This summer our school basketball team went to Taipei and had an exchange programme with that of Taipei Municpal Huai Seng Junior High School. Through friendly matches and training, both teams learnt from each other and developed invaluable friendship.

Eldpathy’s Elderly Simulation Program (10-11/07/2017)

To develop deeper understanding and empathy towards the elderly, our students participanted in Eldpathy’s Elderly Simulation Program to enable them to feel and experience the life of an elderly by putting on a specially designed suit. They took up the Elderly Challenges, which were fun tasks allowing them to experience different real life scenarios and hardship faced by the elders. Chinese Department’s new activity updates and award news (early July 2017)

Our Chinese Department was honoured to have a professional sharing with Gertrude Simon Lutheran Evening College in early July in terms of e-learning curriculum planning, teaching strategies and assignment development. We both learn a lot from each other.

Another piece of good news is our students, Sakura Yip, Stella Au and Claudia Lau from 4A, got the 2016-2017 Chinese Students’ Writing Competition “HengYuanXiang Literary Star” in Hong Kong Region. Congratulations!
