Winning in SingTao Debating Competition (Chinese Debate Team) (02/12/2017)

Our Chinese Debate Team defeated (2-0) delegations from St.Francis’ Canossian College) in SingTao Debating Competition held on 2 Dec 2017 over the motion that the HKSAR government should remove the limit on milk powder. 5E Yim Yin Chun was selected both the best debater and the best interrogative speaker. We congratulate on their victory and look forward to watching their next match.


Joint-school Youth Forum, Justice Education Project (09/10/2017)

To raise students’ awareness and deepen their understanding of Hong Kong Basic Law, a joint-school youth forum, as a part of Justice Education Project, was held in our school. It also helps develop their abilities of critical reasoning on social justice and criminal behaviors.

A Professional Sharing between Primary and Secondary Sections (06/10/2017)

To strengthen the cooperation and development of both Primary and Secondary Sections, we had invited the panel heads of the main subjects from both schools to have a professional dialogue on 6 Oct 2017. This time the teaching staff members from the Primary Section share what they have been doing to enhance the teaching and learning effectiveness to us and we gain a lot of invaluable insights and ideas from them.

Our Chinese Debate Team defeated (2-0) delegations from Kwun Tong Maryknoll College in an Inter-school Debating Competition held on 4 October 2017 over the motion that a simple low tax rate system of Hong Kong is not sustainable. The 8th National High School Students Leadership Competition July 2017 (Late July 2017)

Congratulations! Led by the Chairperson of National and Social Caring Committee, 8 students from our schools participated in The 8th National High School Students Leadership Competition in Shanghai, which took place in late July 2017, showcasing the successful outcomes of their social project on caring for our senior citizens through a wide variety of activities and games.

Chinese Department’s new activity updates and award news (early July 2017)

Our Chinese Department was honoured to have a professional sharing with Gertrude Simon Lutheran Evening College in early July in terms of e-learning curriculum planning, teaching strategies and assignment development. We both learn a lot from each other.

Another piece of good news is our students, Sakura Yip, Stella Au and Claudia Lau from 4A, got the 2016-2017 Chinese Students’ Writing Competition “HengYuanXiang Literary Star” in Hong Kong Region. Congratulations!

Alumna Book Release Inspires Us to Stay Happy by Helping Others (02/06/2017)

Miss Huang Tsui Ping, a centenarian of 104 years old, also an alumna of our True Light School, released a new book《生活如光100年》on 1st June 2017 at the flagship store of The Commercial Press, Tsim Sha Tsui Book Centre in Miramar Shopping Centre.

Miss Huang was the first female probation officer in Hong Kong. Deeply influenced by our school’s motto: ‘Thou art the light of the world’ (Matthew 5:14), she has been positively impacting the hearts and souls of many others who had been going as [......]
