World Book Day Creative Competition 2017 (23/04/2017)

Our students joined the ‘World Book Day Creative Competition 2017′ organized by Hong Kong Public Libraries, on the theme “Chinese Culture”. Yip Tsz Ting Christy (4A) won the Outstanding Award in the Senior Secondary Chinese Category.

School Visits to Hangzhou (26-29/03/2017)

Thanks to the Mainland-Hong Kong Teachers Exchange & Collaboration Programme and Sister School Scheme, this year, a group of 17 teachers, led by Principal Lee, visited secondary schools including Hangzhou Senior High School and our sister school, Baochu Pagoda Experimental School, in Hangzhou in March in order to enhance our professional capacity through lesson observations and professional conferencing.

Winning in an Inter-school Debating Competition (Chinese Debate Team) (24/02/2017)

Our Chinese Debate Team defeated (3-0) delegations from Choi Hung Estate Catholic Secondary School in an Inter-school Debating Competition held on 24 February 2017 over the motion that human beings should halt the development of Artificial Intelligence. Lau Cheuk Ying from 3D was named the best speaker. We congratulate on their victory and look forward to watching their next match.


A Performance by Jingkun Theatre (24/02/2017)

As part of the Chinese learning, our school successfully invited Jingkun Theatre led by famous artists Tang Yuen-ha and Geng Tianyuan to come to our school and a fantastic show was performed in front of all of us. Some of the lines and tonal changes also require the performer to have a broad range and rich voice as well as a flamboyant yet elegant flair, along with some coy charm and forthright appeal. We all enjoyed the drama and deepen our insights into Chinese Literature.


Study and Service Tour to Wuzhou, Guangxi (16/12/2016)

In late November (24 – 27 November, 2016), we organized a study and service tour to Wuzhou to enhance students’ understanding of the development of our country’s agricultural villages. We also wanted to help them experience the school environment of rural China to see how education is different from that in larger cities, and to cultivate the virtue of serving others through their contact with a local school. S3 Excursion to Mainland (2-3/12/2016)

On 2nd and 3rd December, all S3 students went on a two-day, one-night excursion to Zhongshan and Dongguan. By visiting museums and other popular attractions about two Chinese historical figures, students had a better understanding about the life of Mr. Sun Yat-sen and Mr. Lin Ze-xu. Such learning opportunities greatly enhanced the students’ interests in exploring the history of our home country.


2016 Hong Kong Secondary School Chinese Culture Essay Writing Competition (06/11/2016)

Inheriting Chinese culture and harmonizing world civilization, one of our outstanding students, Chan Pui Ting Betty from 2D participated in 2016 Hong Kong Secondary School Chinese Culture Essay Writing Competition organized by China Academy of Culture Limited and won the Third Prize presented by Mr Eddie Ng Hak-kim, the Secretary for Education of Hong Kong, and Mr Ma Fung-kwok, the Legislative Council of Hong Kong, representing the Sports, Performing Arts, Culture and Publication Functional Cons [......]

A Brilliant Start for the School Chinese Debate Team (19/10/2016)

Last Saturday, our Chinese Debate Team had a brilliant start in the 16th Basic Law Debating Competition organized by the Joint Committee for the Promotion of The Basic Law of Hong Kong. Our team won the first match against United Christian College (2-0) over the motion that the negative income tax implementation should be put forward by the government of HKSAR.

Chinese Drama Appreciation—Confucius 63 (13/10/2016)

To enhance students’ interest and develop their abilities to appreciate Chinese drama, our Chinese teachers arranged a drama appreciation of Confucius 63 for our S.5 girls, watching it at the auditorium of Kwai Tsing Theatre.
