Swimming Gala (19/9/2013)

The 12th Swimming Gala of Kowloon True Light

The school’s 12th Swimming Gala was successfully held on the 19th of September in the Morse Park Swimming Pool. A brief but solemn flag raising ceremony marked the beginning of the half- day event. Our School Chaplain, Ms. Lee then led a prayer to encourage all of our swimmers to try their best. Following the prayer came our principal, Ms. Lee’s marvellous speech. On behalf the school, she extended thanks to different parties, including teachers in charge and all student helpers who have made the arrangement of the events smooth and successful. Our student representative took an oath for all students, promising to give their best in different competitions.

There were 31 events in total. Over 150 students participated in the swimming gala. Our school’s exchange student, Michelle participated in four events. She thought it was lot of fun though she felt tired sometimes. She found that everyone was so nice and helpful. She enjoyed cheering for the green house.
All members of the four houses had cheered loudly for their houses, which made the atmosphere exciting and joyful.

At the end, the overall champion went to blue house. Waving the house flags on the prize podium, the house representatives were smiling broadly and proudly.

One of our alumni, who is a successful businesswoman, was invited to present different prizes and trophies to prize winners in the closing ceremony. It is hoped that the spirit of perseverance and striving for excellence will pass on to the younger True Light girls continuously.
