Supporting the development of alma mater and promoting the spirit of our school motto
The alumna manager plays a vital role in the Incorporated Management Committee of Kowloon True Light School. It enables alumnae to contribute to the development of our alma mater as one of the stakeholders and serves as a bridge between alumnae and the school. The alumni manager is elected every three years.
True Light alumnae support the betterment of our alma mater by donating funds to improve the learning environment and teaching facilities of the school, enhancing the learning effectiveness of the students. In particular, Ms. Tong Man Yuen (湯文苑校友) made a donation to establish a multimedia teaching centre. Most of the bestowals during the new annexe construction on our school campus were donated by many enthusiastic and generous alumni, including Ms. Chung Ka Lai (鍾嘉勵校友).
“Nothing compares with the journey on your own feet”. To enable fellow students to have a global perspective, our alumna, Ms Mak Ngan Ching (麥顏貞校友) has established the “Going the Extra Mile” scholarship and sponsored many students to join different learning tours.
In order to encourage students to strive to advance and develop multi-talents, alumnae donate various scholarships from time to time, such as “Li Si Lai (李詩禮) Music Scholarship”.

Caring for the fellow sisters in a line of succession
The multi-talented KTL girls have developed their careers and contributed to various sectors of society after graduation. They often return to the alma mater on different occasions, such as school meetings, sports events, lunchtime sharing, lectures, workshops, etc., to share their experiences and knowledge with their fellow sisters. Alumnae even inspire current students and enrich their campus life by organising diverse activities and teaching them certain artistic or professional skills.
Every year, old girls from numerous industries and university faculties join us on “Mentorship Programme”, which aims at sharing personal experience with the S6 students, when these girls are at the crossroads in life planning. Some alumnae even offer “job shadowing” and internship opportunities to senior form students, broadening their future prospects and enriching their job experiences.
“True Pearl”, the annual school publication, covers the latest news of the alma mater, the highlights for the homecoming visits of alumni and their participation in the alma mater’s activities. The upcoming column — “True Light Alumni Profile” welcomes the contribution of alumni to share their latest news with us.
It is hoped that “True Light Alumni Network’’ will be strengthened and the connection between alumnae of different cohorts and erasi and their alma mater can be enhanced.

Homecoming alumni bond with permanent teacher-student friendship
In order to provide alumnae and teachers more opportunities to gather with joy and memories, the Alumni Association organises a variety of activities, including School Anniversary and Homecoming Celebration, School Anniversary Banquet, Lunar New Year “Poon Choi” Feast cum Farewell Retiring Teachers, University Graduation Photo Shooting for alumni and Christmas Ball as well as travelling tours, interest classes, True Light songs singing competition, volunteer services and more.
Every year, “Homecoming Celebration”(社辰) is held for the alumni of the “Tenth Graduation Memorial”, which is the 10th anniversary, the 20th anniversary, the 30th anniversary, the 40th anniversary, the 50th anniversary, the 60th anniversary and the 70th anniversary of their graduation year. Alumnae will be presented with a special True Light Memorial Pin during the celebration ceremony. “Homecoming Celebration’’ assembles the alumnae in order to relive the memories of their good old days at KTL, share their current news and sing the True Light songs to celebrate their warm-hearted and endless friendship.
The school and the alumnae are essential for the operation of the True Light Alumni Association. The school and the Association often co-organise different school activities, such as travelling tours, visits and volunteer services. Examples of such highlighted celebrations include the True Light School Anniversary Celebration held every five years; various diverse, large-scale joint school celebrations – including the Joint School Worship Singing, Banquet, Guangzhou True Light Homecoming Tour – and visits to different True Light Alumni Associations around the world.

True Light Girls blossom all over the world, and shine wherever they go
With a glorious historical past, a lot of alumnae have migrated overseas after their graduation and pursued their careers all over the world, such as Taiwan, Singapore, Sydney, Melbourne, Toronto, Vancouver, New York, Washington, Southern California, Chicago, San Francisco and many other places. Despite the diverse locations of them, overseas alumni associations are founded for regular gatherings, Christmas parties, school anniversary banquets and social visits, providing an opportunity for True Light girls to share their sweet memories of True Light, shouldering the responsibility of uniting local alumnae, and connecting with the True Light Schools in Hong Kong and Guangzhou. The spirit of “Thou art the light of the world” is well-illustrated now and our alumnae accomplish the motto of “Wherever you go, shine with the light”.
