English debate is not only an extracurricular activity but also an excellent opportunity for students to develop their language skills as well as their confidence and presentation skills. To promote the benefits of debating, our English department has organized an English debate workshop and a debate demonstration in our school on 13 October 2018. Our debate team members, English ambassadors and school ambassadors helped facilitate the workshop for around 110 primary school students from 14 different schools. Apart from grasping debating techniques, the primary school students were also encouraged to think analytically and logically. Thanks to the Debaters Association, the primary school students as well as our student helpers had the invaluable opportunity to watch an exciting debate. It was great to see that everyone had a fruitful Saturday morning.
