Literary Walk ‧ Shadow Hunt in Dragon City
On 8 July, the Chinese Language Department organized the ‘Literary Walk ‧ Shadow Hunt in Dragon City’ activity, offering students unique learning experiences. At the beginning of the program, students were equipped with the knowledge of observation, imagination, and descriptive techniques, crucial for their understanding of the field trip. They then set off to Kowloon City to visit a traditional bakery, where they experienced the bakery’s craftsmanship and felt the wisdom and human touch of the entrepreneurs through interviews with the shopkeepers. Next, the students enjoyed lunch at the Revitalization Restaurant, which not only preserves the flavors of the olden days but also incorporates innovative elements, demonstrating the vitality of cultural heritage and innovation. They then toured the Kowloon Walled City Park to learn about the history and development of the area. Finally, the students wrote down what they had seen and learned during the trip and the photos taken during the journey as souvenirs of the Literature Walk, applying the descriptive techniques they had learned. The trip honed the students’ ability to express themselves in writing and deepened their understanding of the local culture.
