Chinese Cultural Week: Hundred Flowers for Spring
From 17 to 21 February 2025, the Chinese Language organized a five-day Chinese Culture Week under the theme ‘Hundred Flowers Welcomes Spring.’ The activities included poetry competitions, hands-on crafts, fun games, and cross-curricular interactions, which enabled teachers and students to immerse themselves in the charm of traditional culture. The highlights of the program are as follows.
Fei Hua Lin Competition: Participants competed fiercely around the theme of ‘flowers,’ demonstrating their literary skills and team spirit.
Writer’s Talk: Ms Human Ip , a Hong Kong nature writer, introduced the ecological landscape of Hong Kong, integrating literature with ecology and nature to broaden students’ horizons.
Floral Art Workshop: Students experienced traditional techniques, including collage and painting of ‘24 Seasons Decorative Painting’, ‘Lotus and Lotus Fragrance,’ and ‘ Flower Decoration,’ demonstrating the innovation of traditional culture.
Floral Fun Carnival: Interactive booths, such as those for making floral lapel pins, window cut-outs, and lacquer fans, were set up in the auditorium for students to experience the essence of folk art in a fun way.
Gui Xiang Cake and Food Festival: In collaboration with the Home Economics Division, the ‘Gui Hua Cake Making’ and ‘Putonghua on the Tip of the Tongue’ activities.
