“KTL Light Bearer” Service Learning Training Programme
To uphold the spirit of dedication exemplified by the founding figures of our school, and to practise our motto “Thou art the light of the world”, our school’s National and Social Caring Committee has launched the “KTL Light Bearer” programme this year, with 110 students signing up to participate. The “KTL Light Bearer” initiative originated from our school’s social service team at its founding in 1949. It aims to train students to become leaders and to develop their skills in organising events through social service. The programme will encompass seven major areas, including Healthcare Partnership, AI Mentoring, Animal Welfare, and more, with students planning their own volunteer services. It will also collaborate with La Violet Education for training projects to deepen students’ understanding of human-centred service design. An inauguration ceremony and the first volunteer training session were held in December.
