Chinese Culture Week
The theme of this year’s Chinese Culture Week was “Authentic Flavors”. The charm of traditional cuisine and traditional Chinese medicine was showcased. In the school assembly “Exploring Tradition… Starting with Traditional Chinese Medicine,” Dr. Ho Wai Yan and the author of “Animal Medical Clinic”, Sim Sim Lam, shared their knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine. At noon, the “Tong But Lut” Workshop allowed participants to experience making traditional delicacies firsthand. Additionally, a variety of booth games were held, such as “Taste of China,” which showcased regional culinary styles; “Herbal Wisdom,” which helped participants learn about medicinal herbs; “Literary Flavors,” which combined literature and cuisine; “Herbal Sachet,” where participants could make their own sachets; “Eight Famous Dishes Matching Games,” a fun way to learn about culinary traditions; “Tea Taste,” which offered insights through tea tasting; “Little Chinese Doctor,” enhancing students’ knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine; and “Dongpo Canteen,” which used virtual reality to present Su Dongpo’s culinary stories. This event not only enriched participants’ cultural perspectives but also deepened their understanding of traditional Chinese culture.
