Chemistry Talk: Molecular Gastronomy – The Science of Cooking
On 27 March, the Chemistry Department successfully hosted an inspiring seminar titled “Molecular Gastronomy – The Science of Cooking.” We were honoured to welcome Dr. Yuen Mai Yan from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Hong Kong as our guest speaker. During the session held in the chemistry laboratory, Dr. Yuen captivated our senior students by deconstructing the scientific principles behind culinary arts. The talk effectively bridged the gap between complex chemical theories and everyday life. This engaging experience not only strengthened students’ academic proficiency but also ignited a passion for scientific discovery. We extend our gratitude to Dr. Yuen for such an enlightening session.
