To enhance students’ understanding of the testing and certification industry and to spark their interest in science, the Chemistry Department organised a visit to the chemistry laboratory at Hong Kong Metropolitan University. During the visit, students participated in a practical chemistry workshop focused on pharmaceuticals and nutritional supplements, conducting hands-on testing of pharmaceutical ingredients under professional guidance. This valuable outside-the-classroom experience not only immersed students in the cutting-edge research atmosphere and rigorous scientific spirit of the university, but also deepened their appreciation for the practical applications of chemistry in daily life and professional fields — ultimately inspiring their passion and potential for scientific research and encouraging them to pursue future careers in the testing and certification industry.
