From mid-June to mid-July, our students participated in the “Go Deep Sham Shui Po Community Paper” Service Project, co-organised by the People Service Centre and the “Sham Sum Fuk” Time Bank. Working closely with local elderly residents as a full editorial team, students conducted field interviews in Nam Cheong Estate and Mei Foo, capturing stories on “Chair Yoga” and “Tai Hang West neighborhood ties.” They applied their skills to article writing and layout design, and personally distributed the newspapers to the community. This service-learning experience not only enhanced students’ practical skills but also fostered meaningful intergenerational communication and mutual respect.
