To commemorate the 70th anniversary of our school, Staff Development cum Tracing Our Origin Trip was organized from 30th November to 1st December, 2018. A group of 110 members, including our school managers, principals, alumnae, retired teachers, teaching and non-teaching staff of the secondary, primary and kindergarten sections set off to Guangzhou, the root of our school, to explore the history and development of True Light. On these two days, we visited our sister schools in Guangzhou – Guangzhou True Light High School, Guangzhou True Light Middle School, Guangzhou Zhenguang Experimental School, Guangzhou True Light Primary School and Guangzhou True Light Kindergarten.

We would like to express our gratitude to our sister schools for their hospitality extended to all of us, arranging welcoming ceremonies, school tours and lesson observations for us. We were deeply impressed by the historic buildings, the modern development, the dedicated teachers and the motivated students of True Light schools in Guangzhou. These exchange activities have fostered better understanding of the education systems and practices of the two cities. They have also offered an opportunity for us to reflect and enhance our teaching effectiveness. The school visits are valuable experiences for us to understand more about the history and development of True Light. Upon our return to Hong Kong, we will consolidate and share the history of our school and insights gained on the visits with our students.
