“Mock Trial Justice Education” Prize-giving Ceremony
On June 29th, Principal Lee, Vice-Principal Ms Law Chor Wan, teacher-in-charge Ms Cheung Man and a group of students of the Mock Trial team attended the “Mock Trial Justice Education” prize-giving ceremony.
The objective of the “Mock Trial Justice Education” programme organised by the Society of Rehabilitation and Crime Prevention, Hong Kong is to inspire young people to examine the meaning of the rule of law from different perspectives, hone their critical thinking and moral judgment, and enhance their self-confidence, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. It also aims to foster positive attitudes among students; at the same time, promote their anti-drug awareness of and strengthen their understanding of the consequences of drug-related crimes.
Our school team got satisfactory results in the competitions. It won all the three rounds of preliminary competitions, and won the championship in the final. S5A Tse Yan Ting won the “Best Lawyer Award” and S4A Tse Yan Tung won the “Best Witness Award”. This year is the second time that the school won the championship in the competition, and the performance of the students has been affirmed.
In addition to the competition team, the “Justice Think Tank” consisting of Secondary 2 to Secondary 3 students won the “My Favorite Justice Think Tank” third prize.
