The Chinese character culture has a long history and is closely related to our life. On July 2, the Chinese Language Department arranged a visit to ‘The Vivid World of Chinese Characters: From the Origin to the Future’ Exhibition at Jao Tsung-I Academy for 25 Secondary 1 to Secondary 2 students. Students were able to understand the origins of the 100 family names, the characteristics of the characters and the evolution of Chinese characters, etc. Students were also involved in the “Chinese Character Oil Paper Umbrella Workshop” to produce a paper umbrella with the theme of Chinese characters.
