News on Knowledge Fair
True Light has always attached great importance to cultivating students’ moral character. As the Education Bureau has been promoting values education in recent years, which coincides with our school’s 150th anniversary, four True Light schools, the Education Bureau and the University of Hong Kong co-organized the Knowledge Fair on “Values Education”.
The Knowledge Fair was held at Kowloon True Light School on 7 May, the date that marked our school anniversary this year. Ms. Hong Chan Tsui-wah, the Deputy Secretary of Education (Curriculum and Quality Assurance Branch), officiated the fair and delivered an opening speech. Prof. Paul Yip Siu Fai, director of the Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention at the University of Hong Kong, was invited to be the guest speaker, sharing on the topic of “Promoting Positive Education and Students’ Mental Wellbeing”. There were also 15 group sharing sessions to discuss how to cultivate positive values in students and foster good behaviours by creating flexible learning environments both inside and outside the classroom. A total of more than 800 teachers from primary and secondary schools participated online and in person, making this occasion a major event in the education field.
