The 7th “Chinese History and Culture Academy: Touching the Intangible Cultural Heritage” Programme
Four senior form students participated in the 7th “Chinese History and Culture Academy: Touching the Intangible Cultural Heritage” Programme, which was organized by the Hong Kong Chinese Culture Development Association and sponsored by the Quality Education Fund. Through learning about China’s intangible heritage, students gained more knowledge about traditional culture and history. On 28 May, they attended the “Inheritance” Chinese Paper-cut Workshop (Secondary Session). Under the guidance of Ms. Sun Hong, President of the Chinese Arts Papercutting Association, and Ms. Liu Wenling, a famous paper-cutting artist, participants learned to carve patterns in traditional openwork design. Students had a hands-on experience of the folk art of paper-cutting craft which has been passed down from generation to generation, through which their awareness of inheriting and preserving intangible cultural heritage was reinforced.
