In order to summarise the experience and achievements of the “Courtesy and Manners in True Light” teaching programme, “The True Light Etiquette Handbook” and “Learning Courtesy” (Xue-li) are published. After having explored the moral meaning of “courtesy” (li) in class, junior secondary students made a list of items in their own lives putting the Chinese concept of courtesy into practice. In addition, the book describes in detail the programme’s philosophy, curriculum, all-round activities and learning outcomes, with a view to exchange ideas with fellow educators, and to cultivate in students a culture of “benevolence, prudence, harmony and respect”.
