The 1st Teaching Design for Rites and Culture Education Awards Scheme
Our teachers, Ms. Cheung Man, Ms. Chien Ching Loi and Ms. Tai Wai Yuen, were awarded the “Outstanding Teacher of Rites and Culture Education” in “the 1st Teaching Design for Rites and Culture Education Awards Scheme”.
The competition is part of a cultural heritage project organised by the Hong Kong Institute for Promotion of Chinese Culture, which aims to promote rites and culture education. Since the implementation of the programme “Courtesy and Manners in True Light” last year, our school has been honoured to be the winner of the competition and our achievements have been recognized.
The award ceremony was a great success. In addition to presenting awards for various activities, Principal Lam Pui Tak, the Executive Director of the Hong Kong Institute for Promotion of Chinese Culture, also reported on the tremendous work done in the past two years. Ms. Guo Jingjing, the Ambassador of the programme, shared with teachers, students and parents her inspiring experience in promoting the culture of rites of passage.
In an interactive and delightful sharing session, our teachers and students were invited to introduce the features of the school’s courtesy programme, including the core values of rites and rituals, school-wide cooperation and learning from the Chinese classics. Students held candles in their hands which symbolized the unceasing passing of Chinese culture. Our school will continue to pass on the fine Chinese culture, and work with our companions in education to help nurture the future generation with good manners.
