“Light of Jinsha – The Ancient Shu Civilisation” exhibition
Our F.4 Chinese History students had the privilege of participating in the “Light of Jinsha – The Ancient Shu Civilisation” exhibition at the Hong Kong Heritage Discovery Centre. This exhibition marks the first of its kind, following the signing of a framework agreement between the Development Bureau and the National Cultural Heritage Administration in November 2022, with the aim of further promoting cultural heritage exchange and collaboration on archaeological and built heritage. With over 70 priceless exhibits on display, including gold, bronze, jade, stone, pottery, and lacquered wood artefacts unearthed from archaeological sites in Sichuan, such as Jinsha in Chengdu and Sanxingdui in Guanghan, the exhibition illuminates the advanced civilization of the ancient Shu dating back 4,000 years.
