“Professional Sharing‧Shining Stars” Education Forum 2023
The Hong Kong Subsidized Secondary Schools Council (HKSSSC) recently hosted a noteworthy event, the “Professional Sharing‧Shining Stars” Education Forum 2023, on 1 April, in response to the government’s policy direction of “Telling the Story of Hong Kong”. The objective of this forum was to promote and highlight the accomplishments of Hong Kong education, as well as facilitate professional exchanges in the education sector. The Council’s Chairperson, Principal Lee Yi-ying, delivered a welcoming speech, which called on different stakeholders in the education sector to work collaboratively to narrate the story of Hong Kong’s education sector and address the challenges of the new era.
The event featured a panel discussion and a school sharing session, in which Vice Principal Leung Ching-wan and Assistant Principal Ng King-fai shared how our school uses diversified strategies to promote national education. Concurrently, the “Virtual Tour of Ancient and Modern China” design competition was held, which combined information technology and national education. This competition, organized by the Council, encouraged students to use virtual reality (VR) or augmented reality (AR) technology to present the exceptional Chinese culture and contemporary development. Our school proudly received the third prize in the competition, thanks to our students’ outstanding creativity and deep understanding of contemporary China. The winning work, a simulated high-speed train game, showcased the Belt and Road initiative, thus demonstrating the versatility of our students’ ideas.
