Students won awards in the 4.23 World Book Day Creative Competition
The Reading Promotion Committee, in collaboration with the English Language, the Chinese Language, and the Home Economics Departments, had nominated students to participate in the “4.23 World Book Day Creative Competition” organised by the Hong Kong Public Libraries (HKPL).
Students borrowed a cookery book, from a public library in Hong Kong, and then cooked a dish according to one of the recipes. Afterwards, they wrote an essay on the theme of “My Cooking Experience” to describe the cooking process and their feelings.
S3 Lam Wing Chau and S3 Li Tsz Ching won awards in the Junior Secondary Chinese section and the Junior Secondary English section respectively. Lam Wing Chau was invited to share her experiences of reading and cooking at the prize presentation ceremony, which was held at the Hong Kong Central Library on 23 April.
