S5 Students at Hong Kong Journalism Expo
The Citizenship and Social Development Department of our school recently organized a visit to the Hong Kong News-Expo at the Bridges Street Market for S5 students. The visit aimed to provide the students with a better understanding of the relationship between information literacy and positive values. During the visit, the students were led by experienced media practitioners, who shared their insights on the historical development of journalism in Hong Kong, the professionalism and ethics of journalists, and the importance of media literacy. Additionally, the students had the opportunity to participate in news production activities and live broadcasting, which allowed them to put into practice what they had learned during the visit. This hands-on experience provided the students with valuable insights into the role of journalism in society and the significance of media literacy in making informed decisions. This visit exemplified our school’s commitment to providing students with a holistic education that emphasizes both academic excellence and social responsibility.
