The 6th Outstanding Teaching (Character Education) Award
Since the establishment of True Light, we have been unwavering in our commitment to nurturing and cultivating moral values in our students. Building upon the success of last year’s program, “Courtesy and Manners in True Light,” which aimed to promote moral and ethical education through Chinese language learning, the English Department has developed a new school-based curriculum called “Values, We Value: JICS.” This curriculum is designed to foster Justice, Integrity, Compassion, and Self-Control within English lessons. We are immensely honored to be one of the two secondary schools in Hong Kong to be awarded the 6th Outstanding Teaching (Character Education) Award (第六屆品德教育傑出教學獎) co-organized by the Education Bureau and the Winsor Education Foundation.
This is the second consecutive year that our school has received this prestigious honor, serving as a testament to our ongoing efforts in promoting moral education.
On January 5, 2024, Principal Lee Yi Ying, along with representatives from the English Department, Yeung Nga Man, Mak Wing Shan, and Riar Saimanbir Kaur, attended the award ceremony. Additionally, they were invited by the Education Bureau to share their experiences with over 200 schools through seminars held in November and December of 2023.
