Local Student Exchange Programme
To broaden students’ learning horizons and foster cross-school cultural exchange, Kowloon True Light School (KTLS) and Queen Elizabeth School (QES) co-hosted a four-day “Local Student Exchange Programme” in early March. This initiative allowed students to step out of their comfort zones, step into their partner school, and gain first-hand experience of diverse educational models and learning atmospheres.
During their exchange at QES, KTLS students observed and participated in Chinese and English debate activities, showcasing exceptional critical thinking and communication skills. They also explored robotics and drone technology through a STEAM tour and enjoyed captivating performances at the school’s Drama Festival. Furthermore, students from both schools deepened their connections in a relaxing and cheerful atmosphere through a book-sharing session and a fun shuttlecock competition.
Meanwhile, KTLS arranged a wide array of enriching learning experiences for the visiting QES students. Coinciding with a traditional Chinese festival, students from both schools gathered during lunchtime to guess Lantern Festival riddles. The exchange students also took part in biotechnology and Model United Nations (MUN) experiences, which significantly broadened their interdisciplinary and global perspectives. Through thematic school assemblies and the sharing of learning insights, students from both sides inspired one another, exchanged ideas, and grew together.
In just four short days, students from both schools not only profoundly experienced each other’s unique campus cultures, but also forged deep friendships with their student buddies, bringing this cross-school exchange to a successful and unforgettable conclusion.
