Tao Fong Shan Arts Tour
The school’s Religious Affairs Committee and the Ethics and Religious Studies Department recently organised the Tao Fong Shan Arts Tour, guiding students through the historic Tao Fong Shan Christian Centre in Sha Tin. As a Grade II Historic Building, the site provided a profound backdrop for students to explore the heritage of the Norwegian Lutheran Mission and the evolution of Christian services within Hong Kong.
The architecture of Tao Fong Shan is particularly noteworthy for its distinct Chinese aesthetic, which masterfully integrates Western Christian theology with traditional Chinese cultural elements. This approach of cultural adaptation offered students a unique opportunity to witness the harmony in diversity that defines Hong Kong. Through this immersive experience, our students gained a deeper appreciation for the city’s identity as a vibrant gateway where Eastern and Western traditions coexist and flourish in synergy.
