From the World to the Score: Discussing Cross-Cultural Creation
To enhance students’ cultural confidence, the Reading Promotion Committee led students to the Chung Hwa Book Co. (HK) Ltd. Yaumatei Branch on 30 May. They attended the “Hong Kong Youth 1872 Salon” Sharing Seminar (Love Our Home, Treasure Our Country Series), jointly organised by the China Merchants Group Hong Kong Youth United Association and the Hong Kong Direct Subsidy Scheme Schools Council. The seminar featured renowned Hong Kong composer and council member of the Hong Kong Composers’ Guild, Dr. Luk Wai-chun, who holds a PhD in Music from The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Dr. Luk presented on “From the World to the Score: Discussing Cross-Cultural Creation,” guiding students through the vast realms of music and culture, greatly expanding the horizons of both teachers and students and leaving them with valuable insights.
