Reading Day
25 November marked our school’s Reading Day, themed “Hearts of Literature: Wisdom’s Timeless Call”. To foster learning through play, the Reading Promotion Team created lunchtime booth games inspired by the posthumous translations of Professor D. C. Lau. These allowed students to explore the wisdom of the Analects and Mencius through English texts.
We were honored to host Professor Poon Ming-kay, Chairperson and Professor of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature at The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He delivered a talk to S4 and S5 students titled “Confucius’s Way of Learning”, exploring ancient wisdom for modern life. Afterwards, Professor Poon visited the De Xin Academy to share insights about the department with S3 to S5 literature enthusiasts, making it an enriching day for all.
