Cheung Chau Food Globalisation Field Trip
On 12 March this year, students from the Liberal Studies Elite Training Programme (Junior Secondary) joined a field trip to Cheung Chau held by the Caritas Chan Chun Ha Field Studies Centre to study on food globalisation. Students had lessons on concepts of globalisation at the centre first. Walking on different routes on the island, students learnt to evaluate and record the influence of globalisation on restaurants and snack shops systematically. Students then returned to the centre and analysed the collected data. Through the activity, students on the one hand, could explore Cheung Chau from another perspective, on the other hand, could learn more about data analysis, and the impact of globalisation on Hong Kong.
