School Assembly – “Living Together with Fukushima”
In order to enhance students’ understanding of the global impact of radiation from Fukushima, our school invited Dr. Tam Man Kei to share his insights on the topic “Living Together with Fukushima” on 5 September. During his anthropological doctoral research, Dr. Tam visited the radiation-contaminated village in Fukushima, Japan, and lived with the villagers who returned home after the “3.11” earthquake and nuclear disaster in 2011. He experienced firsthand how they coexisted with the nuclear disaster and radiation. Through Dr. Tam’s captivating presentation, students gained a deeper understanding of Fukushima and developed a greater appreciation for the environment.
