Wellness Forward: Sports Carnival and Health Expo
To celebrate the 15th National Games, our school hosted the “Wellness Forward: Sports Carnival and Health Expo” on 15 November. The event centered on the themes of “Knowledge Vitality, Courageous Spirit, and Digital Empowerment,” with mascots Smarty, Mighty, and Techy representing these core ideas, transforming the campus into a vibrant space for sports and health learning. The morning session featured active participation from our students, while the afternoon was open to over 40 elementary schools and guests, creating a lively atmosphere.
The event was strongly supported by various local universities and public institutions, including the University of Hong Kong, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Police Force, and the Hong Kong Fire Services Department. Additionally, social welfare and sports organizations like the Mental Health Association of Hong Kong, the Elite Athlete Charitable Trust, and the Hong Kong ESports Academy were actively involved in promoting healthy living.
There were three main competitions: the “All-around Obstacle Challenge” tested physical and coordination skills; the “National Games Esports Cycling Race” combined technology with endurance challenges; and the “Health Knowledge Quiz” deepened health knowledge through fun and interactive methods. Each competition held both competitive and educational significance, helping participants gain a deeper understanding of sportsmanship and healthy living.
The event featured eight themed experience zones, including the National Games Highlight Zone, Tech Dynamic Zone, Traditional Sports Zone, Knowledge Exploration Zone, Emerging Sports Zone, Science Discovery Zone, Health Check Zone, and National Games Leisure Zone. The diverse activities in each zone attracted enthusiastic participation, enhancing knowledge from various perspectives.
In summary, the carnival effectively stimulated young people’s interest in sports and health, enhanced awareness of technology and healthy living, fully embodied the spirit of the National Games, and promoted holistic development of students.
